Mr. Benvenuto’s legal practice centers on his more than 30 years of experience defending medical malpractice and related general liability claims.

Throughout his career, Mr. Benvenuto has represented hospitals, physicians, dentists and other health care professionals and providers involved in the full range of medical specialties. He currently leads a team of New York attorneys, in the representation of several hospitals, medical groups and physician clients of the firm. Mr. Benvenuto works in partnership with his clients to keep them engaged and informed throughout the litigation process. By drawing on his vast experience in medical malpractice claims, tapping into the dual legal and medical resources of his team, and accessing experts in a variety of specialty areas, Mr. Benvenuto provides the best possible defense for his clients. Mr. Benvenuto frequently has presented in-service and continuing medical education (CME) programs to residents, interns and other health care professionals on medical malpractice claims handling and risk management. Mr. Benvenuto was selected to Super Lawyers in 2022.

From 1975-1979 Mr. Benvenuto worked as both a New York State Corrections Officer and a Suffolk County Police Officer before embarking upon a career in law. From 1997-2009 he managed Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers captive law firm Benvenuto, Arciero & McAndrew in New City, New York before returning to the current office in Roslyn, New York where he continues to practice as the Senior Trial Attorney and one of two managing attorneys of the Law Offices of Benvenuto & Gaujean focusing primarily upon cases brought in the New York City venues and lower Hudson region.
